Getting Started

iKaluach places the civil and Hebrew calendars side by side, with holidays, Torah portions, zmanim for your location, and personal events such as yahrzeits, birthdays, and anniversaries.

The main screen

The top row holds three buttons: the gear opens Settings, the list opens All Events, and + adds an event on the selected day. Below them are the month title, the arrows for moving through the calendar, the Civil Month / Hebrew Month switch, and Today.

The month grid shows each day’s civil and Hebrew dates. Colored dots mark what falls on a day: blue for Jewish holidays, orange for civil holidays, green for your own events. Holidays are tinted light blue and Shabbat light yellow.

Tap a day to select it. Everything about the selected day — its dates, location, events, holidays, Torah portion, and zmanim — appears in the list below the grid.

Choose your location

Zmanim depend on where you are. Tap the gear, then Location Settings, and search for a city or tap Use My Location. The location also decides Israel or diaspora behavior and the candle-lighting time. See Locations and settings.
