Getting Started

Kaluach places the civil and Hebrew calendars side by side, with holidays, Torah portions, zmanim for the selected location, and personal events such as yahrzeits, birthdays, and anniversaries.

Choose your location

On first launch, the current development version begins with Jerusalem. Use the location control in the toolbar to search for a city, use the Mac’s current location, or enter coordinates manually.

The location determines the astronomical data, whether calendar behavior follows Israel or the diaspora, and the local candle-lighting offset. It is saved automatically, and saved locations remain available for quick reselection.
